Walk across the world-famous Bridge on the River Kwai, a poignant symbol of WWII history. Ride the historic Death Railway along the precipitous wooden viaducts at Tham Kra Sae. Swim in the emerald-green ponds of the 7-tiered Erawan Waterfall, often voted one of Thailand’s most beautiful falls. Explore the jungle landscapes of Sai Yok National Park, and immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to the Ban Kao community village.
Your journey begins with a private transfer from Bangkok, heading west toward the Burmese border. The first day is dedicated to understanding the deep historical significance of the region.
You will start at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the immaculately maintained resting place of thousands of Allied prisoners of war (POWs) who perished during the construction of the railway. Nearby, you will visit the JEATH War Museum. The name JEATH is an acronym for the primary nationalities involved in the railway’s construction: Japanese, English, Australian, American, Thai, and Holland. The museum displays photographs and memorabilia that offer a glimpse into the harsh realities of the era.
After lunch at a riverside restaurant, you will visit the iconic Bridge on the River Kwai. While the bridge was immortalized in film, walking its iron span today connects you to the true story of resilience behind it.
The highlight of the afternoon is a ride on the Death Railway itself. You will board the train for a scenic yet hair-raising journey along the cliffs at Tham Kra Sae Station. Here, the tracks cling to the mountainside overlooking the river—a feat of engineering built under tragic conditions. You’ll also explore the nearby Tham Kra Sae Cave, a small Buddhist shrine offering panoramic views of the river below.

The second day is all about Thailand’s stunning natural beauty. After breakfast, you will depart for Erawan National Park, home to the famous 7-tiered Erawan Waterfall.
After a local lunch, the adventure continues to Sai Yok National Park, a serene area known for its raft houses and river scenery. Depending on the water levels, you will visit either Sai Yok Noi or Sai Yok Yai Waterfall. For a truly local experience, you can opt for a short boat ride along the River Kwai Noi or visit a floating raft village to see how locals live on the water.

On your final morning, you’ll dive into the local rhythm of life. After checking out, visit a bustling local market or the Ban Kao community village. This is a fantastic opportunity to see traditional crafts and observe rural Thai life up close.
For a relaxing finale, you can opt for bamboo rafting, gently drifting down the river surrounded by nature. After a final lunch, your private driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Bangkok, arriving in the late afternoon.
