Bali and Indonesia DMC for Tour Operators: Beyond the Beach to Java and Komodo
October 14, 2026

Bali sells itself; the work is in selling it well, and in showing clients that Indonesia is much more than one island. As a Bali and Indonesia DMC for the travel trade, DMC Connect runs ground operations in Bali, Jakarta and Yogyakarta, and plans programmes that reach the Gili Islands and Komodo.
Where we operate in Indonesia
- Bali: Ubud's temples and rice terraces, the coast at Seminyak and Nusa Dua, and day trips to Nusa Penida.
- Yogyakarta: the gateway to Borobudur and Prambanan, Java's great temple sites.
- Jakarta: the capital and Indonesia's main business and events hub.
- Gili Islands: small car-free islands off Lombok.
- Komodo: Komodo National Park, reached from Labuan Bajo, often explored on a traditional phinisi boat.
Useful facts for your documents: Jakarta is on UTC+7 and Bali on UTC+8; the currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR).
Sample itineraries
- Classic Bali: A Journey of Spirit and Shore (8D/7N): Tirta Empul's holy spring, the Tegallalang rice terraces, Kintamani and Mount Batur from an Ubud base, then the coast at Seminyak.
- Romantic Bali Itinerary: A 10-Day Couple's Retreat: a slower programme for honeymooners and couples, and one of our itineraries that lists a Spanish-speaking guide.
Ideas beyond the classic Bali week
- Java temples: add Yogyakarta for Borobudur and Prambanan before or after Bali.
- Komodo by boat: a private phinisi charter from Labuan Bajo for small groups and incentives.
- Festival timing: build a programme around Balinese ceremonies, using our guides to Galungan and Kuningan and Nyepi, the Day of Silence, when the whole island, including the airport, closes for a day.
- Tana Toraja: for experienced travellers, the highlands of Sulawesi; see our Lovely December guide.
Arrival formalities
Indonesia has moved its arrival formalities online; see our article on the All Indonesia digital arrival platform. Entry rules change, so travellers should always check the official government sources before departure.
Services in Indonesia
We deliver tailor-made travel, group series, educational travel and MICE and incentives in Indonesia. Bali remains one of the region's leading incentive destinations, and Jakarta's large exhibition venues are covered in our MICE in Asia guide.
When to go
Bali's drier months generally run from about April to October, and the wetter season from about November to March. Nyepi closes the island for 24 hours each year in March or April, depending on the Balinese calendar. See our seasonality guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Indonesia does DMC Connect cover?
We operate in Bali, Jakarta and Yogyakarta, and plan programmes that include the Gili Islands and Komodo, exclusively for the travel trade.
Can Bali be combined with another country?
Yes. Bali combines well with Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand, all of which we operate. We plan the flights and transfers as part of one programme.
What should guests know about Nyepi?
On Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, the island shuts down for 24 hours, including the airport, and guests stay in their hotels. We plan arrivals and departures around it.
Do you run incentives in Bali?
Yes. MICE is one of our four service lines in Indonesia, including incentives, meetings and events.
