Southeast Asia for American Travelers: A DMC Guide for US Tour Operators and Travel Advisors
October 14, 2026

DMC Connect is a Southeast Asia DMC for US tour operators and travel advisors. We are the destination management company that runs the trip on the ground in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia and China, while you own the client and the sale. We work only with the travel trade, and every request gets a tailored proposal within 24 hours.
How we work with travel advisors
Many US trips are sold by independent travel advisors and agencies rather than by large tour operators. Our process is the same whichever you are:
- Inquiry & Consultation: send the dates, group size and wish list. A specialist contacts you within 24 hours.
- Bespoke Proposal: a detailed proposal with net-based pricing, so you set your own margin.
- Collaborative Refinement: we adjust the programme with you until it fits your client.
- Confirmation & Management: we manage all bookings and provide full trip documentation.
Your client never receives a sales message from us. We do not sell to travellers directly.
Trips American travelers ask for
- The first-timer: Bangkok's temples and river, then a beach. Start from City Lights & Island Nights – Bangkok & Phuket (6D/5N) or the Thailand Comprehensive Tour (8D/7N).
- Honeymoons and milestone trips: the Romantic Bali Itinerary (10 days) or the Luxurious Thailand Itinerary (8D/7N).
- History and heritage: the Vietnam Heritage Trail (8D/7N) and the temples of Angkor, combined through our Indochina programmes.
- Wellness: the Koh Samui Wellness Retreat (8 days).
- Incentives: reward trips and meetings for US companies; see our incentive travel guide.
Planning around the US calendar
- Thanksgiving to New Year: the dry season on the mainland and peak demand in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Siem Reap and Luang Prabang. Book early for the holiday weeks.
- Presidents' Day and spring break (February to April): still dry in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, but March to May is the hottest period. Plan early starts and pool time.
- Summer vacation (June to August): the wetter months on the mainland, but Bali, Java and Malaysia's east coast are in their drier season. See our seasonality guide.
- Festivals: Songkran in mid-April and Loy Krathong in November make memorable trips if booked well ahead; see the 2027 festival calendar.
Across the time zones
Bangkok is 11 to 12 hours ahead of New York, 12 to 13 hours ahead of Chicago and 14 to 15 hours ahead of Los Angeles. A request you send in the afternoon arrives at the start of our working day, so you often have our reply by your next morning. More on working across the Pacific in our North America overview.
Who stands behind the trip
We are Bangkok-headquartered and licensed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT 14/04338), an ATTA member (5259), with registered entities in Singapore and Malaysia and more than 15 years of experience. To compare us with other ground operators, use our checklist on how to choose a DMC.
Frequently asked questions
Can a US travel advisor work with you directly?
Yes. We work with travel advisors and agencies as well as tour operators and corporate buyers. We do not sell to travellers directly.
How are your proposals priced?
Every proposal uses net-based pricing, so you set the selling price and your margin stays with you.
Can one trip combine several countries?
Yes. We operate in eight countries and plan multi-country trips, such as Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, as one programme with one proposal.
When is the best time for American clients to travel?
For Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and much of Vietnam, November to April is generally the driest period. For summer travel, Bali and Java are in their drier months.
