One DMC for Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand: Planning Indochina Multi-Country Programmes

An Indochina programme sells on one promise: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and often Thailand in a single trip. Behind that promise sit several countries' worth of hotels, guides, transfers and border crossings. When each country is handled by a different ground operator, the tour operator becomes the switchboard between them. DMC Connect runs ground operations in all four countries, so one partner answers for the whole route.

Why one DMC for several countries

  • One contract and one point of contact for every country on the route, instead of four.
  • One standard: the same proposal format, the same documentation and the same service expectations in Hanoi, Luang Prabang, Siem Reap and Bangkok.
  • Hand-overs we own: when a group moves from one country's team to the next, both sides of the hand-over are ours.
  • One proposal with net-based pricing for the whole programme.

Where we operate on an Indochina route

  • Vietnam: Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Laos: Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Pakse.
  • Cambodia: Siem Reap for Angkor, Phnom Penh, Battambang, Koh Rong and Kampot.
  • Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui and Krabi, with our head office in Bangkok.

Building blocks for a classic route

These published itineraries are the country sections we combine most often. Each can be shortened, extended or joined to the next.

A common shape is Vietnam north to south, a flight to Siem Reap for Angkor, then Luang Prabang or Bangkok to finish. For a slower variant without internal flights, see our guide to rail and overland routes.

Logistics we plan for you

  • Border crossings and connections: we plan the flight or overland connection between countries, with timings that leave buffer for check-in and immigration.
  • Guide hand-overs: the outgoing guide sees the group to departure and the incoming guide meets them on arrival, with both briefed on the group.
  • Hotels and transport standards held to the same level across countries, as agreed in the proposal.
  • Entry formalities: we point every group to the official sources for each country, such as Vietnam's pre-arrival digital declaration, and build the timings around them. Visa rules are the traveller's responsibility and should be checked with the official authorities.

Timing an Indochina programme

The dry season across Cambodia and Laos generally runs from about November to April, while Vietnam's north, centre and south each have their own pattern. In April, the water festivals of Songkran, Pi Mai and Khmer New Year fall in the same week across Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, which makes a strong theme but needs early booking. See our seasonality guide and the 2027 festival calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Can one DMC really run Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand?

DMC Connect runs ground operations in all four, from a Bangkok head office with registered entities in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. You send one brief and receive one proposal for the whole route.

How many days does an Indochina programme need?

Our country sections run from 3 days (Siem Reap) to 8 days (Vietnam north to south), so a four-country programme is usually two weeks or more. We size it to your brief.

Can you sell the route as a group series?

Yes. Any multi-country route can run as a group series on a fixed calendar of departures.

How quickly will I get a proposal?

A specialist contacts you within 24 hours of your request, with a detailed proposal and net-based pricing to follow.
