Same Working Day, Short Flights: A Southeast Asia DMC for Australian Travel Agents and Wholesalers
October 14, 2026

DMC Connect is a Southeast Asia DMC for Australian travel agents, wholesalers and tour operators. We are the B2B destination management company that runs the trip on the ground in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia and China, while your agency or brand keeps the client. We work only with the travel trade, and every request is answered with a tailored proposal within 24 hours.
On your working day, not overnight
For Australian agents, Southeast Asia is in a neighbouring time zone, so you can brief us, query a proposal and confirm a booking in the same business day:
- Perth is on UTC+8, the same time as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bali, and one hour ahead of Bangkok.
- Adelaide and Darwin are 2.5 to 3.5 hours ahead of Bangkok.
- Brisbane is 3 hours ahead of Bangkok all year.
- Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra are 3 hours ahead of Bangkok in winter and 4 hours ahead during daylight saving.
Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Jakarta are on UTC+7 and do not change their clocks.
Shorter trips, more often
Because the flights are shorter than from Europe or North America, Australian clients often travel to Southeast Asia for a week rather than a month, and come back again. That suits programmes that can be sold quickly and repeated:
- Bali beyond the resort: Classic Bali: A Journey of Spirit and Shore (8D/7N), with Ubud's temples and rice terraces before the coast, or add Yogyakarta, the Gili Islands or Komodo. See Bali and Indonesia DMC.
- A week in Thailand: City Lights & Island Nights – Bangkok & Phuket (6D/5N) or the Koh Samui Wellness Retreat (8 days).
- Vietnam in one trip: the Vietnam Heritage Trail: North to South (8D/7N), from Hanoi and Ha Long Bay to Ho Chi Minh City.
- Cities and food: Singapore & Malaysia Combined (6D/5N), or Kuala Lumpur Explorer & Genting Highlands (5D/4N).
- History and temples: Siem Reap Vistas (3D/2N) as a short add-on, or a longer Indochina programme.
Matching the Australian school holidays to the seasons
School holiday dates differ by state, but the broad windows line up well with the region's seasons:
- Summer holidays (late December to January): the dry season on the mainland, so Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and southern Vietnam are at their best. It is the wetter season in Bali, so plan indoor alternatives there.
- Autumn and Easter holidays (around April): still dry on the mainland but the hottest months; Songkran in mid-April makes a strong theme if booked early.
- Winter holidays (late June to July): Bali and Java are in their drier months, while the mainland is in its green season with fewer visitors.
- Spring holidays (late September to October): Bali is still dry, and central Vietnam moves into its rainy months.

Groups, schools and incentives
- School and university groups: our educational travel team plans themed tours and service learning, with fully qualified guides and rigorous health and safety audits.
- Corporate incentives and conferences: Bali, Phuket and Singapore are established incentive destinations; see our incentive travel guide.
- Wholesale and repeat departures: product enhancements, exclusive rates, on-the-ground feedback and guide training for each series; read how we run group series.

Frequently asked questions
What is the time difference between Australia and Southeast Asia?
Perth shares UTC+8 with Singapore, Malaysia and Bali, and is one hour ahead of Bangkok. Sydney and Melbourne are 3 hours ahead of Bangkok in winter and 4 hours ahead during daylight saving, so we work through most of your business day.
Do you work with wholesalers as well as travel agents?
Yes. We work with travel agents, wholesalers, tour operators and corporate buyers. We do not sell to travellers directly.
Is Bali a good destination in the Australian summer holidays?
December and January fall in Bali's wetter season. Rain often comes in short bursts, but for those weeks we suggest indoor alternatives each day, or Thailand, Cambodia or Laos, which are in their dry season.
How are proposals priced?
Every proposal uses net-based pricing, so you set the selling price and keep the margin.
